Hot Shots

I first heard about Hot Shots when Om Malik linked to it a back in November 2011. I’m no photographer but when I do take photos I’d like them to be great, and I’m a believer in shooting with the camera that you have with you, (I have a small compact), so I added the book to my Christmas list.

Hot Shots turned out to be quite different than I expected. For some reason I expected a “how-to” approach, but Hot Shots teaches more by example than explanation. This works quite well, especially when combined with a small, technical, “how-to” section at the back of the book. Also, we get to see more of Kevin Meredith‘s great photography.
